Dr Josephine Farrugia Mifsud

Dr Josephine Farrugia Mifsud graduated as a Doctor of Laws in 2007 and obtained a Master of Arts in Financial Services in 2010. Furthermore, in 2009, she obtained a diploma in taxation from the Malta Institute of Taxation.
Dr Josephine is the lead expert within JLF Legal. She has years of proven experience and success, particularly in civil, commercial as well as criminal litigation matters. Dr Josephine will act as your trusted legal advisor, professional representative and strategic planner.
In her spare time, Dr Josephine likes to spend quality time with her children and whenever the opportunity arises, participates in car as well as motorbike racing.

Dr Roberta Aquilina
Senior Associate
Roberta is a warranted lawyer based in Malta and her main areas are Data Protection, Trusts, Corporate, Commercial, Immigration law and AML/CFT compliance.
Roberta pursued her studies at the University of Malta where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2016. In 2017, Roberta then read for a Masters in Advocacy.
Roberta was granted a warrant to practise as a lawyer in 2018. She also obtained a Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management. Roberta has also pursued an EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Practitioner Award (MQF Level 6) and is now a certified GDPR practitioner.
At present, Roberta is currently reading for a Master of Arts in Financial Services at the University of Malta.
In her free time, Roberta likes travelling, singing and spending time with her family.

Andrea Aquilina
Corporate Administrator
Andrea joined JLF Legal in August 2021 as a Corporate Administrator. Prior to joining the firm, he gained valuable experience in client service delivery with a leading credit institution in Malta.
In 2020, Andrea successfully completed a course which lead to his attainment of a Compliance in Financial Services and MLRO professional certificate.
Andrea is an avid football and snooker follower and is currently striving to become a professional snooker referee.
Martina Caruana Montaldo
Legal Intern
Martina is a legal intern at JLF Legal. She is currently reading for a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Malta. Her interest particularly lies within the Criminal law field. She works closely with our General Manager in court, gaining invaluable experience for her legal career.
